Who is Cattywampus Acres?

If you would have told us ten years ago that we would own a farm, be milking goats and making goat milk soap, we would have both looked at you like you were crazy! Neither of us were raised on farms. Jason was born and raised in southeast Michigan. He moved to Georgia in 2007. Lauren was born in Minnesota, then lived in Michigan for 12 years before moving to Georgia in 2004. Who would have thought that two Michiganders would have found each other in Georgia!

Jason started his homestead journey in 2014 when he purchased our current home and had a dream of having a homestead. At the time he bought our five acre property there was nothing but a house.

He got right to work putting up a metal building to use as a shop, a chicken coop, a goat barn, and fencing! He started small with chickens and a few goats.
Well, we all know that chickens are the homestead gateway drug.

Lauren came along a few years later and jumped right in! We got married in June 2018! Ever since then we have been full throttle adding more animals, gardens, and an orchard! We love learning and trying new things; from making cheeses to processing homegrown animals. We love to document our journey through our YouTube channel and sharing it with YOU!

Once we began milking our goats we found that we had an abundance of milk. We were finding anything to make with it; cheese, ice cream, yogurt, and SOAP!

Our begining batches of goat milk soap were small and made in our kitchen. We experimented with various oils; some turned out well, and some not so well. We continued to learn and gain experience. One Christmas we were so confident in our soap that we started giving it as gifts to friends and family. Well, come to find out, everyone loved it! We were encourged to make more and sell at a local market. So we did!

We increased our milk production by increasing the number of goats we have in our herd. We quickly outgrew the kitchen and turned our garage into a soap studio.

We pride ourselves on providing luxurious goat milk soap using milk from our very own herd. We know that our goats are healthy and cared for which means they produce quality milk that will moisturize your skin!

Our mission is to show people the benefits and quality of our goat milk soaps in hopes that it will change their lives and benefit their skin.
